LIFE'S A BEACH ... Darren Bent fires in Sunderland's winner off a beachball
MIKE JONES is set to be bounced off this weekend's match list for his beachball clanger at Sunderland.
The Cheshire ref allowed Darren Bent's winner against Liverpool to stand after it cannoned in off a red beachball thrown on to the pitch by a young Kop fan.
But the effort should have been chalked off and the match stopped.
JONES ... goal blunder
Jones, 41, in his second League season, will be asked to explain his actions - as will his three assistants - after all appeared unsure about the rules.
According to FIFA's laws, the goal should have been disallowed because of 'outside interference'.
Jones will be hammered when the Professional Game Match Officials board meets today.
Former top ref Dermot Gallacher said: "It was such a glaring error. Everybody knows that when something encroaches on to the pitch the game stops."

I can't help but think about the kid who hit the beach ball onto the pitch.
Dollars to donuts say that he's gonna get bullied in school today.... his face is all over Youtube and the newspapers, after all....
Already I've seen quite a few Youtube comments calling for his blood...

a "world class" team cant score two at the stadium of light in 85 mins to take the 3 points is a more funnier point i guess.
