that time my mech tuned for me, he never take out the spark plug to check, he jus listen to the engine sound onli....
a lean mixture will feel weak at low rpm, run much hotter, possibly cause engine damage due to overheating. you'll feel a power gain at higher revs, but it's not good for your engine... -

I am currently taking my class2b now, and am quite interested to get a phantom after i get my lisence. I got a few questions which i hope you all can clear...
1) Average price of a 2nd hand phantom?
2) Road tax, insurance for phantom?
3) Approximately how much would i have to fork out every month to pay for installments?
4) Is maintainance cost high?
I am currently an nsf, wonder if it would bewithin my budget~

200cc not sure whether got 2nd hand anot, too long never scout mototiams liao....
rd tax is all the same for 2B bikes, $80 a yr
my insurance is 3rd party from Mitsui at only $243
instalment wise must depend on how many yrs u wan to pay, but interest is about 6-8 %
maintenance wise, nothing much except for 2T n gear oil. Problem free if well maintained...... -

Hi all.. just got myself a TA150... but not too happy with it... just want to clarify with you all something,
1) I have difficulty starting the bike especially in the morning... kick until sieow also cannot start.. think must call my bike KTM150 liao. Does this happen to any of you????
2) How much is a new paint job gonna cost?? Let say paint something like shadow red/black colour??
3) MY bike is very LOUD and like something is knocking here and there ..... Like the engine gonna explode anytime.... Want to go fast also scare the engine will die on me...
4) What kind of servicing to you guys do when u bring ur bike to moto tiam??? And how much???
By the way my bike is FR plate one.. think is the one without power cut one... Hope someone can answer my woes.... tomorrow have to bring my bike to the shop... Hope everything will be solved then.... Cheers and Ride on..... -
I went to a few bike shops in Ubi 2 check out prices yesterday... ranged from 2.9k to 3.5k... there was one phantom which was qouted 2.9k to me... looks good in condition, but mileage was 67k+, it was a FR plate... another FQ which was only 29k+... is your phantom the old TA150 wif sticker? mine is dat one, and yes sometimes engine loud. but actually loud means engine wont die when u blow wat, its when i blow then the engine get silent especially if never warm up that i scared will stall.
i do full servicing every 9000~10,000km. wash internal at my tiam cost $38. then he changed my piston link and gasket and other stuff is extra cost of watever thing he replace, but depend whether worn out or not. dont ask me how u tell if worn out, but i know after 9000km when my engine idle will stall easily due to carbon build-up dats why send for cleaning. else i just change 4t every 3000 and spark plug every 6000km.

can consider quite high mileage liao
i got mine FS plate, 1.5 yrs old when i bought it, the mileage only 22K. so around there lar.... -

i tink can buy lar... jus prepare 200 bucks more for a major servicing of all the engine parts.
Block, piston, piston ring, valve, carburetor
change the air filter
ask the mech to retune the carb
best if can change the chain n sprockets, front n rear tires, battery, brake pads, etc
AND u have a gd condition bike!!
me not riding white color, the normal one -
think that will be much much more than $200..

Aiya, finally can login liao, unable to do so ever since they change the outlook.
To all Ta 200, how fast do you all travel on the average, cause i find that 80-90 is the comfortable speed for this bike, once i hit 100 the engine like going to expolde like that, so just trying to find out the max speed you're tried on Ta200. thanks

but after 110, wil take some time to reach 130 -

Mine is a FR plate is '99 manufactured, 3 yrs=43000 km
Everyday travel to and fro from work is about 50km. -
me travel from home to school just 3km only..

FQ TA 150. total mileage around 29000. reaching 30000 already. purely transport bike only. all previous owners also treat it as transport bike.
but tires still irc. anyone know where to change cheap but good tires for phantom. -
